Industrial Electric and Mechanical Estimator

We are looking for an experienced Electric & Mechanical Estimator to join our Industrial Mining Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating electrical and mechanical systems specific to industrial mining projects. This position requires technical expertise, an understanding of mining operations, and the ability to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates to support successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Review project specifications, technical drawings, and scope of work for electrical and mechanical systems specific to mining operations.
Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical and mechanical installations, equipment, labor, materials, and other project-related costs.
Analyze blueprints, site conditions, and technical documentation to determine project requirements and potential risks.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that all aspects of the project are captured accurately in the estimate.
Obtain and assess subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing while meeting quality and safety standards.
Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and verify estimates against existing site conditions.
Ensure all estimates adhere to industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Prepare and submit comprehensive proposals and cost breakdowns for industrial mining projects.
Assist in the preparation of bid packages and support contract negotiations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, mining technologies, and relevant codes and standards.
Monitor project performance to ensure estimates align with actual project costs and schedules.
Prepare change order estimates and manage any scope adjustments.

Skills & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
5+ years of experience in electrical and mechanical estimating, specifically in the industrial mining sector (preferred but not mandatory)..
In-depth knowledge of mining operations, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment.
Proficient in estimating software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Experience with relevant codes, safety standards, and regulations in the mining industry.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
