Fiber Splicer


  • Installation of fiber splice enclosures
  • Fusion Splicing
  • Unidirectional and bidirectional fiber testing
  • Light Level Testing, OLTS
  • Fiber troubleshooting and repair, test report generation.
  • Coordinate daily crew activities and work schedule
  • Maintaining a safe and quality work site and location
  • Maintain Fiber equipment and tools
  • Daily inspection of all equipment assigned to the crew
  • Maintain daily production rates
  • Ensure work is conducted in a safe manner and according to company safety and OSHA practices

Skills & Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience preferred but will consider less based on Fiber Experience
  • Knowledge of industry testing equipment- OTDR, OLTS, Fluke, Etc.
  • Category cable termination and testing a plus
  • BICSI, CORNING, FOA CFOT, OSHA Certification is a Plus
  • Travel required
  • Splicing fiber optic cables using equipment such as fusion splicers, cleavers, and other tools
  • Performing fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Performing fiber optic cable preparation and installation
  • Reading and interpreting engineering plans and schematics related to fiber optic networks
  • Terminating and testing aerial and underground fiber optic systems
  • Updating and maintaining project tracking information such as production sheets, timesheets and customer-required paperwork
